Our Junior Safety Consultant is responsible for supporting Questco clients and internal teams with workplace safety initiatives and workers’ compensation regulatory compliance activities. Working closely with Senior Safety Consultants and the client service team, this role assists with risk assessments, safety program implementation, incident documentation, and OSHA compliance support.

The Junior Safety Consultant will conduct virtual and on-site safety activities across multiple industries while developing their technical expertise in workplace safety and risk management. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career safety professional to take ownership of safety responsibilities while continuing to grow under the guidance and oversight of senior safety professionals.

This role requires strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of safety regulations, and the ability to build professional relationships with clients through both virtual and in-person interactions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

▪ Support loss control and client service teams in responding to safety-related inquiries from client companies.▪ Maintain professional relationships with client stakeholders, including managers, supervisors, and employees.▪ Provide proactive communication and support to clients regarding workplace safety questions and safety program fundamentals.

2. Client Safety Compliance Management

▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, HR consultants, claims, and client services, to support safety-related client deliverables.▪ Conduct virtual and on-site safety assessments to identify hazards and document observations.▪ Provide guidance on OSHA compliance requirements, including required postings, injury reporting procedures, and safety program fundamentals.▪ Assist with identifying areas of non-compliance and support the development of corrective action recommendations.▪ Support completion of safety inspections required by carriers or State agencies and assist with follow-up documentation.

3. Incident Investigation and Reporting

▪ Assist with gathering information related to workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses.▪ Support the preparation of incident documentation and safety recommendations to prevent recurrence.

4. Injury and Claims Assistance

▪ Assist clients and Questco’s Claims Management team with communications and information gathering related to workplace injuries and open claims.

5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

▪ Utilize Questco’s internal risk management systems to assist with risk assessments for assigned prospects and new clients.▪ Conduct virtual or onsite risk reviews and document observations, hazards, and client feedback.▪ Assist in identifying workplace hazards and recommending risk mitigation strategies.▪ Support implementation of safety best practices and risk reduction initiatives.

6. Policy Development and Implementation

▪ Assist clients and Senior Safety Consultants in developing and maintaining workplace safety policies and procedures.▪ Support implementation of safety programs and foundational safety processes within client organizations.▪ Maintain and update safety checklists, templates, and safety resource materials.

7. Training and Education

▪ Assist with setting up client safety programs and provide guidance on the use of Questco’s Risk Management Center (RMC) system.▪ Deliver basic safety training materials including toolbox talks and new-hire orientation topics based on client risk exposures.▪ Support development and distribution of safety resources to promote safe work practices.

8. Activity Tracking and Continuous Improvement

▪ Maintain accurate records and documentation within internal systems related to safety assessments, training activities, and client communications.▪ Assist in tracking safety compliance activities including audits, inspections, training completion, and corrective action follow-ups.▪ Support preparation of reports and documentation used to evaluate safety program effectiveness.

9. Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

▪ Bachelor’s degree preferred. Degrees in Risk Management, Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Business, or related fields are desirable. 

 ▪ 0–3 years of relevant experience in workplace safety, risk management, insurance, construction safety, or related fields preferred. 

 ▪ Candidates with safety certifications or safety training may be considered in lieu of direct experience. 

 ▪ Professional certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), or similar are preferred but not required. 

 ▪ Ability and willingness to obtain a relevant safety certification within the first two years of employment. 

 ▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication platforms. 

 ▪ Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

▪ Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs. 

 ▪ Significant viewing of a computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse. 

 ▪ Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time. 

 ▪ Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. periodically. 

 ▪ Safely visit and walk construction sites and manufacturing facilities. 

 ▪ Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position.

 

Language Skills

▪ Fluency in English – speak, read, and write.▪ Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.

Travel

▪ Travel is required, including occasional overnight stays, with expected travel not exceeding 20%

▪ Ability to safely drive long and short distances throughout the day to various client locations.

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000. 

This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus potential for this position. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and experience related to this role) and may fall outside the range shown depending on the circumstances.
