HR Generalist

Remote - The Woodlands, TX

The Human Resource Generalist will provide Questco client companies with consultative support on Strategic HR Solutions. This role will provide support and align to the client needs, business objectives and partnership with client decision makers. This position requires decision-making primarily technical with established policies, procedures and standards providing the basis for compliance decisions. With problems range from simple to complex, this position requires research, consultation with others, and developing solutions that will provide support to the client and increases the clients perceived value in Questco.

Specific Job Expectations include

  • Partner with Client Service Managers and client directly on Strategic HR Solutions
  • Interpret implications and provides consultative support of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function including, but not limited to, FLSA, ADA, HIPAA, other data privacy rules and regulations, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and FMLA vis a vis client issues and decisions and know when to obtain legal or other advice
  • Consult with clients and offers timely HR solutions that potentially impact business outcomes
  • Coach/consult with client organization leadership and worksite employees on issues including performance, terminations, sexual harassment, discrimination, and other HR services
  • Proactively manage client service plans as they relate to the HR deliverables, i.e. handbooks, job descriptions, salary surveys, etc.
  • Provide resolution to Clients’ employee relations related activities as required
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures; provides recommendations and remedies for Client base
  • Support and present Questco HR products and offerings
  • Support Client workplace investigations and Employee Relations Consultation
  • FMLA subject matter expert. Advises clients and employees of regulations and processes
  • Work with Questco Training & Development Manager to recommend, identify, develop and present training courses based on client needs
  • Keep applicable Questco systems updated and accurate at all times
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skill set in Human Resources. Maintains PHR/SHRM-CP, certification by participating in credit webinars, job activities
  • Maintain current Knowledge of HR Trends and development
  • Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strong HR Generalist or Consultative Knowledge
  • 5 years’ experience in Customer service / Client facing required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience/certification
  • PHR/SHRM-CP required; SPHR preferred
  • PEO experience preferred

  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to handle sensitive client situations gracefully
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with the ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients

Physical Requirements, Language Skills

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs
  • Frequent viewing of computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse
  • Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. periodically
  • Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position
  • Fluency in English – speak, read and write

  • 20% travel within the market
