Tax Coordinator

Remote - The Woodlands, TX

*Remote with some in-office requirements. A few days in Jan/Feb*

The Tax Coordinator will be responsible for general administrative and support services to the Tax team, preparing basic tax returns, preparing annual reports, preparing and processing tax payments, filing tax returns, correspondence, and other duties as assigned.

 

Specific Job Expectations include

·       Make withholding tax deposits as required by taxing authority pay frequencies

·       Open tax accounts with State and Local withholding agencies as needed

·       Prepare tax filings: Annual reports, tax returns, upload/file state copies of W2s, etc.

·       Prepare and respond to client tax requests

·       Respond to State and Local Withholding tax notices

·       Assist with gathering and preparing requested items as required by external auditor for quarterly agreed-upon procedures and annual audits

·       Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

·       A minimum 1 to 2 years administrative experience

·       Administrative experience in finance/accounting and basic payroll tax experience preferred

·       Education:  high school diploma or equivalent

·       PEO experience preferred

 

Required Skills

·       Computer skills including basic Microsoft Excel skills

·       Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to handle sensitive client situations gracefully

·       Professional verbal and written communication skills

·       Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with the ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients

              

Physical Requirements, Language Skills:

·       Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs

·       Frequent viewing of computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse

·       Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time

·       Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. periodically

·       Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position

·       Fluency in English – speak, read and write
